I'll overwhelm 'credible boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to damage his features and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

In spite of such comments, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically recognized for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather targeted former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK rival Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's largest financial successes, consistently making huge paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the customary face-off, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the match is truly going ahead.
